De laatste volle week dat de pups allemaal hier zijn en opnieuw was het een week vol activiteiten. Het was tijd voor de puppy-testen en de nest inventarisatie van de ASCN. Zoals altijd was het leuk om te zien en gelukkig bleek het een bevestiging te zijn van onze eigen impressies en ideeen over de karaktertjes en bouw van de pups. Met deze additionele test resultaten, hadden we een goede basis om definitief te beslissen welke pups naar welke eigenaren gaan. Alle nieuwe eigenaren zijn erg blij met de keuze van hun pup en ik weet zeker dat de pups dat ook zullen zijn!  

De volgende dagen verbleven we met de pups op een boerderij met katten, andere honden, schapen en vooral een zee aan ruimte. De pups hebben volop genoten van de grote tuin om in te spelen en hebben ook heel veel met Summer gespeeld, die hier alle ruimte had om te rennen en de pups uit te dagen. De pups hebben ook de schapen ontmoet. Alle pups waren erg geinteresseerd in de wolbalen, maar nog wat onzeker over wat ze ermee moesten doen. Sommige pups volgden ons om de schapen heen, andere pups volgden Dazzle (die de schapen onder controle hield) en kopieerden haar gedrag, en sommige pups gingen zitten en keken geconcentreerd naar de schapen voordat ze ze benaderden. Ze zijn nog veel te jong om hier enige conclusies aan te verbinden, maar het was een leuke ervaring voor allemaal.

Op vrijdag hadden de pups hun officiele ogentest bij de ophthalmoloog. De meeste pups gedroegen zich heel netjes en alle pups zijn voorlopig vrij van erfelijke oogafdoeningen. De volgende dag hadden de pups een relaxed dagje op de boerderij zonder geplande uitjes, maar wel met een foto-shoot! Linda Westerhoff (http://www.brizz.nl) was de geweldige fotograaf en ze heeft echt een set super mooie foto's gemaakt. We hebben de (bijna traditionele) groepsfoto gemaakt die we van alle nesten maken en natuurlijk veel leuke snapshots van de pups in de tuin. 

We hebben ook weer verschillende uitjes en wandelingen gemaakt met de pups deze week. Samen met verschillende andere honden zijn we naar een vennetje geweest en de pups hebben in het zand en bij het water gespeeld. Ze zijn allemaal erg open en relaxed rond andere honden en gedragen zich respectvol. Ze vinden het water leuk, hoewel ze nog niet zo ver gaan. Een ander uitje ging naar het trein station in Amersfoort. Meelopen aan de lijn, langs veel auto's en taxi's, veel mensen, sommigen haastend met koffers en bagage, anderen staan blijvend om naar de pups te kijken of ze te aaien, vervolgens door de schuifdeuren, de grote echoende hal, door de grote gangen, de trap af en op het perron kijken naar de treinen die komen en gaan. Weer een heleboel nieuwe indrukken en ze deden alsof ze dagelijks met de trein gaan!  

Nu hebben we ons socialisatie lijstje af. Volgende week gaan we verder met de clicker training (alle pups begrijpen de clicker, kennen het 'zit' commando, zijn dol op de aandachtsoefeningen en kunnen de handtouch en de down doen met wat hulp), nemen de pups mee op de wandelingen en gaan door met alle dingen die we de afgelopen weken voorbij zijn gekomen. Volgende week komt de laatste 'pupdate' uit deze serieu en zullen de pups hun nieuwe eigenaren voorstellen!

The last full week that the pups are all here and again it was a week full of activities. It was time for the puppy-tests and the evaluation of the ASCN. As always it was fun to watch and fortunately, it proved to be a confirmation of our thoughts and impressions about the characters and structures of the pups. With the addition of those test results, we had a good basis to decide which puppies would go to which owners. All owners are very happy with the choice of their pup and I'm sure the pups will be too!  

The next days, we stayed with the puppies on a farm with cats, other dogs, sheep and lots of space. The pups have enjoyed the big garden to play in and have played a lot with Summer, who had all the space to run around and invite the pups to play. The pups also met the sheep on the farm. All pups were very interested in the woolies, but a bit unsure what to do with them. Some pups followed us around the sheep, some pups followed Dazzle (who was holding the sheep) or copied her behaviour, and some pups just sat and watched the sheep intently before trying an approach. They're way too young to draw any conclusions, but it was a fun experience for all.  

On Friday, the pups had their official eye test scheduled at the ophthalmologist. Most behaved very well and all pups are free of hereditary eye defects. The next day, they pups had a relaxed day at the farm without trips, but with a photoshoot! Linda Westerhoff (http://www.brizz.nl) was the great photographer this time and she did a wonderful job. We made the (almost traditional) group pic as we make for each litter and of course lots of snapshots of the pups.  

We also made several trips and walks this week. Together with several other dogs, we went to the water side and the pups played in the sand and the water. They are all very open and relaxed around other dogs and behave very respectfully. They like the water, although they won't go far yet. Another trip was to the train station in Amersfoort. Walking along on leash, passing lots of cars and taxis, many people, some hurrying along with large suitcases or trolleys, others stopping to watch or pet the pups, then the sliding doors, the big hall with the echoing sounds, through the hall way, down the stairs and onto the platform watching the trains come and go. Lots of new impressions for the pups, but they handled it like pros!  

Now we have completed our to do list for socialisation. Next week we'll just continue clicker training (all pups understand the clicker, know the 'sit' command, love the attention exercises and can do the handtouch and the down with a little help), take the pups on walks and continue on all other things we've done last weeks. Next week there will the last 'pupdate' where they pups will introduce their new owners to you!
