Litter 2007

When Famy was a puppy and it became clear that I couldn't keep a pup at that time, we found her a perfect co-owner home. Hoping she would develop all the potential that she seemed to have at the time and keeping the option to breed with her if she would indeed prove to be of such quality. Well, she exceded all expectations and hopes!
Her working and sport qualities were better than we had dared to think. Competing and performing in agility, flyball, dogfrisbee, obedience, herding and conformation. She really shows what versatility is all about. She is well built and has a good character. We did all health checks and  her eyes were clear, A hips and MDR1 clear/clear.

I started a long search for a suitable male. Although Famy has a lot of qualities, she also has her minor points ofcourse. No dog is perfect. So, I searched for a male that would complement her in her strong and weak points. A male who compliments her working abilities, because I'm really very very happy with that and want to preserve that. A male who compliments her structure, preserving her strong points, but also helps to 'repair' her weaknesses; her size (she is on the larger side of the standard) and close rear. And a male who is cool in the head, has a stable disposition and settles down when work is over. And above all, the male should be healthy and should have a pedigree with a minimal of health risks.

After a long search, we decided that a red merle male from Canada was the partner we were looking for. Clinton lives in Germany and was bred in Canada. He is from full working lines with little known health risks. The risks that were known did not double up in Famy's pedigree, so the risks for the pups are even lower. Both Clinton's parents worked daily at the farm, especially with cattle. Clinton himself and some offspring have also shown to have a lot of interest and talent to work stock.
Furthermore Clinton is trained in obedience and soon agility and is very biddable. Like his owner says: "Clinton likes to do anything, but doesn't have to anything". That immediatly describes Clinton's easy character and temperament. He is a medium drive dog, friendly and goofy, but settles easily and is cool and stable. A good combination with "spitfire Famy".
Clinton is a working dog in a showy package. Nice amounts of bone and coat (he is very out of coat at the pictures shown at this page!) and a beautiful head. He has good angulations, solid topline and a beautiful groundcovering sidegait. He is a solid built male.

We feel that these dogs should compliment eachother very well and make a great combination. Pups in red tri and red merle are expected in March 2007. Versatile working and performance prospects in a good looking package. This should be a very exciting cross.

Who could resist a face like this?
